BIKE TOURS
No less than 21 km of cycle paths have been developed by Chartres Métropole since the creation of the Green Plan. The aim of this plan is to preserve and enhance the remarkable landscapes of meadows and woods that stretch around the river Eure.
Take your own bike or go to the Maison du Vélo (Place Pierre-Sémard, Chartres station) and hire a city bike, a child's bike, an electric bike or a VTC bike to take advantage of the network of soft links available to walkers. Don't miss the facilities around the Barjouville and Luisant ponds.
HIKING
Discover the treasures of the region at your own pace during a walking tour. Set off on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela by following one of the two signposted itineraries, explore several towns such as Illiers-Combray or Thiron-Gardais Abbey with the GR22 route which leads to Mont Saint Michel, or let yourself be charmed by the Chevreuse valley with the Charles Péguy route.
LARGEST AQUATIC COMPLEX IN FRANCE
The Odyssey pool complex offers over 5,000 m² of water surface area, with indoor pools, two 10-lane Olympic pools (indoor and outdoor), play facilities, outdoor beaches and equipment, and play areas for young and old. Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation in the spa area with saunas, steam rooms and whirlpools, a beauty treatment or a fitness session. The complex also offers an ice rink (closed in August) and snorkelling trips.
ACCROBRANCHE
From the age of 6, enjoy the thrill of the Accrocamp tree climbing courses in the André-Gagnon park. Discover more than 50 activities, a dozen zip lines and 6 courses, as well as a picnic area to make the most of your day.
The park is open from mid-February to mid-November on Wednesdays and weekends outside school holidays and every day during school holidays.
CHARTRES-FONTENAY GOLF COURSE
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced golfer, you can play golf just 10 minutes from the centre of Chartres. The Chartres-Fontenay Golf Club welcomes you to its two courses: an approved 9-hole course of 2400 m par 35, playable in 18 holes par 70, and an approved 9-hole Pitch & Putt course of 700 m playable in 18 holes. Discover also its practice areas and its 3 driving ranges. The golf course also has a restaurant.
THRILL-SEEKING ACTIVITIES
Take to the skies! The Chartres gliding centre offers you the chance to admire the plains of the department during a first flight, a flying lesson or an introductory glider flight. Let yourself be carried by the winds and create unique memories.
